Traditional Armenian paper.
Invented in 1885 by Auguste Ponsot on his return from a trip to Armenia where he discovered the virtues of Benzoin resin, these same small notebooks of impregnated blotters are still sold.
Gold Medalist at the 1889 Universal Exhibition
Who can claim a better record for commercial longevity? And clearly, the success is not about to fade. Even today, Papier d'Arménie is an essential reference and its fragrance remains unique.
There are several versions:
- Green: traditional Armenian paper. Blotting paper impregnated with Armenian Benzoin resin.
- Rose: A variation of Papier d’Arménie. Benzoin resin, roses from Turkey and Iran make up this subtle and inimitable fragrance.
- Blue: Always based on Benzoin resin in association with incense, myrrh and vanilla.
It is used in two ways:
To remove odors from a room: Tear off a strip and fold it accordion-style in a heat-resistant bowl. Light the strip and immediately blow out the flame. The strip should burn slowly.
To perfume your drawers or cupboards: Without burning them, place some sheets in your furniture. They will delicately perfume them while repelling moths.
